Hunter has never been a huge fan of sweets, unless you’re talking about these sweets!
I think he likes strawberries over blueberries, but they are a really close tie. He loves lots of fruits: strawberries, blueberries, red apples, bananas, purple grapes, and an occasional cutie clementine. I think he wants to like watermelon, because his younger brother is crazy over watermelon. So Hunter likes to pick a piece up and act like he’s going to eat it, takes a super tiny bite, and puts it back.
I don’t know if it’s texture or taste. I have to imagine taste, because he seems to like like different textures, however, he won’t eat fruit in the melon family at all like his younger brother. Hudson loves all melons in the melon family!
Actually both boys are a bit different from most kids, because neither one like chocolate, cakes, pies, desserts for the most part, except they will both eat vanilla ice cream. They both like sour patch kids, however, Hudson picks out only the red ones. Hunter likes all the colors, but other than those frosted sugar cookies you get from the bakery, that is the only dessert that he’ll eat. And, actually if you give him a choice of strawberries or a cookie, I know exactly which one he will choose without a doubt. #strawberries
These strawberries taste as good as the picture, and he’ll watch me clean them and cut them. I too, love strawberries, so if I eat one as I’m getting his ready, he’ll be pointing to his bowl, like that’s for me too, right? #dontliketosharemystrawberries
He is pretty much that way with his blueberries too. I’m super excited to have the season coming up with sweet fruits. I pretty much buy the whole produce market when I shop for the boys.
Here’s my list of fruits that my boys will go thru on a shopping trip:Bananas, strawberries, apples, grapes (both green & purple), blueberries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, watermelon, golden melon. Hudson will eat mangoes and apple pears too.
My boys eat quit a lot, so my shopping trip is normally bulk at Costco. They tell me when I check out that I should use the flat bed, and I’m like if I was taller, I would. LOL….I’m just too darn short to use the flat bed, I can’t control it when it has a bunch of groceries on it. I’m like your typical “where’s the beef”, old lady driver with a flat bed….watch out, seriously. I’ll stick to the cart that’s piled high. And, if you don’t know the reference to the “where’s the beef”, than I’m much much older than you.
Seriously, there’s not much of the produce market that they don’t like. So our pocketbook appreciates when the fruits are in season. Yeah, spring and summer!
I am very thankful that I don’t have to fight with them about eating candy, and sweets, but sometimes I wish when they were younger, and the reward system used was “M&M’s”….nope not me! I sure wish I was more like them and didn’t like the sweets, but #thismamalovessweets #chocolateismyfriend
Do you have a sweets or fruits kid?
